Maybe if this had been published in earlier times, this would be one of those books you burn for heresy. It really explores so many theological point, points that most of us are scared to think about. Xas and Sobran have a relationship that spans forty years or more, and which includes friendship and passion and so much more. The author really pushes the boundaries in exploring what it means to have a relationship that lasts that long, between two characters who are so different.
