Max Minghella BBC Interview

Thought I would post this YouTube vid of a nearly 4 minute BBC interview Max gave, which is really quite interesting. For such a young actor of 21, it appears that he will have a great future in acting ahead of him.

Thought I would mention in this video interview at the beginning, Minghella mentions that he first got interested in acting, when he first seen a play in London, This Is Our Youth....It so happens that Jake Gyllenhall made his theatrical debut on the London stage in that same play!

Minghella also talks about his role in Bee Season, which I thought he gave a very good performance.

to the Max!

Currently updating Max\'s profile, and it is taking me sometime, coz a lot of new articles need to be added to it, anyway, here\'s an excerpt:
: In this Terry Zwigoff film, young Jerome Platz (Minghella), is an impressionable young man and unusual artist, who\'s just been accepted to the Strathmore Institute, a prestigious art college in New York City. It\'s when he meets the girl of his dreams (Sophia Myles) that he\'s desperate to impress her with his talent. But in the cutthroat world of art, Jerome has much more on his plate to worry about including favoritism, hypocritical instructors with fading dreams, backstabbing and desperation. But it only gets worse when a serial killer is terrorizing the campus, known only as the Strathmore Strangler. Could Jerome have possibly found himself an angle for success, both in love and in career?

In a review by filmcritic.com, this is what they have to say of Max\' character:

As in Zwigoff\'s previous films, which include Crumb, Ghost World, and Bad Santa, Art School\'s hero is far from heroic. Played by Max Minghella, with his dark eyes and brooding bushy brows, Jerome Platz is a young art student whose primary aspiration is to be the greatest artist of the 21st century, the next Picasso. His secondary concern - to find an emotional, intellectual, erotic connection with a woman - proves even more ambitious since he feels only one girl, luminous art model Audrey (Sophia Myles), is worthy of his attention.
You may note that Sophia Myles is also the lead actress in Hallam Foe, the new film featuring Jamie Bell. So she\'s really a rising star and quite beautiful too! 8) - Admin

Unique Sounding Love Story!

Thanks Jed for featuring a spotlight on this interesting sounding, and somewhat unique film. It\'s the first I had heard of it. I also checked out the Elvis and Anabelle website, which is quite nice I thought. I really liked the teaser videos, it looks interesting! Very nice website presentation as well.

I did get to see Max Minghella in Bee Season (screenplay also written by Jake Gyllenhaal\'s mother) which I really liked, including his performance. Minghella is somewhat new to me, but I hope to see some of his movies. - Jan
