Can\'t Wait For Both Projects

I\'m really looking forward to seeing Ryan in Lars and the Real Girl. He gained weight for this role. I posted 2 really great reviews from people who went to an advanced screening of Lars and the Real Girl over on the forum. Ryan has said in interviews that he feels this movie is even more romantic than Notebook! It\'s also great to hear just this week, that Lars will premiere at the TIFF.

\'The Lovely Bones\' sounds like such an amazing story, and I too was very happy to hear that Ryan signed on for this project. I have not read the book. Supposedly the author has said that she would like Suzie, the young murdered girl, to be played by an unknown actress.

Once again, I think Ryan will be amazing in this very dramatic sounding role playing the father of the young girl. Thought I would mention, unfortunately, there has been a bit of negative comments about Ryan doing this role. Most have said that they feel Ryan is too young to play the role. I would have to disagree. With Ryan\'s rugged looks, he could pull off playing the role of a father I think. I\'m somewhat curious, for those of you who have read \'The Lovely Bones\', does it specify perhaps how old the father/parents are?

Speaking of age, I recently read in an interview that supposedly the director/producer of Half Nelson said that originally Ryan\'s character Dan was suppose to be in his late 30\'s I believe....they changed it and made his character younger, because they wanted Ryan to do the role so badly and felt he was perfect to play Dan in Half Nelson.

Unfortunately, I too haven\'t had the oppportunity to see many of Ryan\'s movies, but there are quite a few that I really want to see.
I was a bit disappointed with Gosling\'s Fracture, it was not what I expected, though they (Hopkins and Gosling) made it watchable, still to have 2 great actors in a rather predictable movie is....
I liked Fracture, but I know its gotten mixed reviews and that not everyone liked it. Like I mentioned in tMF Fracture review, I found the love affair didn\'t really work in the movie, and was somewhat of a distraction, since it went nowhere really. I do see your point though Jed. - Jan

I recently read about this project on a Rachel Weisz fansite and I was very happy to hear that Ryan Gosling has signed.

I just know him from \"Stay\" but I loved him in this, and I\'m quite certain that seeing him together with Rachel Weisz, one of my favourit actresses, will be wonderful. :)

The story sounds interesting as well, and I\'m also excited in how Jackson will do this one after some very BIG productions before. - Rina H.

I\'m also thrilled by this new film, and to have Peter Jackson direct it, makes it even more exciting. I know that Mr. Jackson is more than qualified to handle this film, he\'s quite serious about his woRk and the attention he put into details.

I was a bit disappointed with Gosling\'s Fracture, it was not what I expected, though they (Hopkins and Gosling) made it watchable, still to have 2 great actors in a rather predictable movie is....

I\'m updating my book list, to include this one, and oh yes, The Vintner\'s Luck is at the top of my list, and this book may get \'there\' too!

Cheers! - Admin

I\'m thrilled to hear about The Lovely Bones. I read this book recently after hearing that Peter Jackson would be directing the movie, and it is an awesome story - beautifully and cleverly written, with wonderful characters. The dad (the role Ryan G will play) is a superb character and arguably the one who is closest to the narrator, dead girl Suzie Salmon. It\'s has the potential to be an awesome movie! - LA Bennett
