Starring Depp and Bale portraying respectively notorious gangster John Dillinger and SA Melvin Purvis, Crudup will portray the infamous and not always likeable character of FBI Boss J. Edgar Hoover. As rumour has it, Crudup has "nailed" the role down to perfection. After a take, he alledgedly received a "standing ovation" by his fellow actors and extras.
