Emile Hirsch - I'm so glad to see him on this list. I didn't even think most people knew who he was, but I've been watching his films for a long time. Although he doesn't always choose the best movies, I love his acting all the same. Jamie Bell - This guy is just amazing. I love how he brings his characters to life and his charisma. My favorites of his would definitely have to be Billy Elliot and The Chumscrubber. He may not be the best looking guy, but his presence on screen is just awesome. Ryan Gosling - I've loved his since I first saw him on Remember the Titans with his quirky dancing and singing. Then I found out that he could truly act with movies like Half-Nelson and The Notebook and I fell even harder. Jake Gyllenhaal - Woohoo! Donnie Darko...that says it all. His acting skills are top notch and his ability to take on a role is great. He might be a little too old to be on a young actor list (along with Ryan), but I love him all the same. Yep, I'm definitly a Gyllenhaalic. Ben Whishaw - I can't really comment on him seeing as I've never even heard about him. It helps that he's easy on the eyes though. Jim Sturgess - Yes, yes, yes! This guy blew me away when I first saw him. Every time he sang in Across the Universe, my heart just burst. I think that he's incredibly talented and I hope to see more from him soon. UK certainly gave us a gift with this boy. Joseph Gordon Levit - I've been following him since we were both children and I've always been a big fan. I'm happy to see him here since he's usually undr-appreciated due to the fact that he mostly sticks with indies. His portrayal of Neil in Mysterious Skin sends shivers down my spine. I also love how versatile he is. I can't wait to see him in The Frog King. Personally, I think that he should be #1, but then again, I haven't really seen the top 2 act. Gaspard Ulliel - I've never even heard of him. I usually prefer German films to French films, so I like actors such as Daniel Bruhl, but I might give this guy a chance. I think that he's pretty good looking (in a quirky way, which I like) and it seems that he has a lot of fans. Robert Pattinson - I'm still not too sure about this guy. I've only seen him as Cedric in Harry Potter and there really wasn't enough screen time for me to determine his acting. And today, I purchased the 4 book box set. Twilight album on iPhone. Check. Multiple viewings of Twilight over opening weekend. Check. And why all this? Rob Pattinson. The recent buzz about the film placed him squarely in my sights via youtube. Hmm. Who is this charismatic actor? Oh right. He was in HP. This leads to watching interviews by said actor who replies not with stock p.r. scripted answers but uses his own words and thoughts. The result is a disarmingly devastating creature with a creative wicked sense of humor and humility. This leads to more youtubes of How To Be and Little Ashes. Interesting choices. Not since Christian Bale have I felt this much electricity for an actor's potential. Rob may be a pretty face but he's got depth and I always feel like I want to see/hear more of whatever he has to say/do. I am in my thirties and a mother and teacher. I like many of the choices that were listed in this list. I thought there were many talented actors listed based on talent and not their looks. I believe that is what this list is suppose to be based on. Yes, Robert does have a large following of teen fans based on Twilight but this does not mean he isn't a talented actor. As to the fact that many are bashing his looks based on him appearing dirty and unshaven in public, so what who cares. I certainly do not because to me this makes him appear more human and not some perfect being who always has to look good. We are all human, and there are not many who look good all the time. I do not know if I would say that he is the best out there but I am becoming more impressed with his work the more I watch it. I didn't even think he was anything but cute in Harry Potter but I can see the appeal now that he is older and more mature looking. I, however, am more impressed by his talent than his looks. I think that people should stop bashing him just because of all the attention he is now getting because of Twilight. I think he deserves the attention because it is getting his other work recognized.
