I hope to stay fairly under the radar. I just want to do work that I can be proud of and make people feel something profound," says Ryan Donowho.

You maybe familiar with the young actor having seen him in a number of The O.C. episodes. Other actors may have had second thoughts about playing such a doomed character but not Ryan. With such good looks, it's fairly easy for the guy to star in the familiar boy-next-door type of roles. But it seems he likes something different.

Ryan was also in A Home At the End of the World, the movie that starred Colin Farrel. It was a short part, but he definitely made quite an impact.

Ryan Donowho steps forward as a strong screen presence who has had some nice roles before but really owns the screen as Eddy. He’s at once vulnerable, obnoxious, damaged and sweet and that’s tough to pull off," says Don R. Lewis from filmthreat on the actor for his role in The Pacific and Eddy.

That review and Mr. Donowho's reputation as an actor who loves doing indie movies made me realize this is an amazing talent and one worth watching! I got the chance to view the Matthew Nourse film and was fairly impressed. It's a film that speaks to your heart. It's beautifully done and executed with much care and attention to detail. It's not predictable and it offers something new to the audience.

Aside from this movie, I came to admire the actor when he took on some recent supporting roles. Looking for some of Emile Hirsch's more recent movies, I got the chance to watch the 2004 film Imaginary Heroes. Mr. Donowho distinguished himself with a heartfelt performance as Kyle Dwyer, Emile's friend and roommate.

Oh, and he's a terrific drummer!

This sums up Mr. Donowho's apparent musical and acting talents:

For the moment, the trailer gives an idea of the film, with its pernicious beauty and of the ravishing charisma of “the bomb” Ryan Donowho who embodies Eddy, his big fawn eyes reminiscent of the memory of death.

Drummer with the group Pagoda alongside fellow actor Michael Pitt, Ryan is not only an actor but songwriter as well, currently working in Texas on a solo project. He speaks of Eddy as “a dreamer and a loner who cuts himself off from society by running away from mourning. He is a tender person, angry at himself and at the world. Contrary to Eddy, off-screen in real life, I am a drummer, a man of the shadows. I like to be withdrawn, with the exception of the times when I would play drums in the streets of New York, in the subway, when I needed money. I love this; to create a show, assemble a small crowd in public, in an impromptu fashion.”

We can bet that in some time, the crowds will be meeting in dark rooms to follow the beautiful internal voyage of Eddy out to the edges of the Pacific.

tMF certainly has its eyes on a number of talented actors- Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Nick Stahl and more. At the moment, we have below our latest profiles, with more coming up soon!

It would seem hard to talk about Casey Affleck without mentioning his brother Ben or vice versa. The brothers have been the subject of many articles - from their looks and their relationships to Ben’s decision to cast his brother in Gone Baby Gone and the completely different career paths both guys took on: Casey remained oblivious to the glamour and glitz of Hollywood, while Ben adjusted to the glare of being in the spotlight. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers - The 30-year old Irish actor is known for speaking his mind- he is quite vocal about a number of issues- from the failings of the film industry to dealing with directors with huge egos to the irrelevance of celebrities & the lack of real talent in some of today’s biggest box-office stars. Not many people are blessed with the opportunity to enter a deeply rewarding and exciting career. In the case of Michael Angarano, it has been like that since he was 5 years old. As a young model, he was exposed early to the hustle and bustle of a glam job. Not surprisingly, he began his successful transition into acting a couple of years later. [ read more ]

Kostja Ullmann: Taking on such a challenging role is not a new departure for the actor. After appearing in a variety of shows on German television, Ullmann was offered the role of Achim, one of the leads in Marco Kreuzpaintner’s Summer Storm. [ read more ]
