Welcome!

On behalf of the team, welcome to the How To Be Promotional Blitz site!

Let us tell you about the site.  Initiated by tMF (the Movie-Fanatic), this promotional site is the work of volunteers who aim to provide a much-needed buzz for filmmakers Oliver Irving and Justin Kelly initial movie offering, How To Be.

With a cast that includes Robert Pattinson, Rebecca Pidgeon, Jeremy Hardy, Johnny White Mike Pearce and Powell Jones, the movie is a comedy about Arthur, a twenty something who moves back in with his parents, hits a quarter-life crisis and enlists the help of a self-help guru.  It's a timely look at the increasingly common phenomena of grown-up children living at home, frustrated creativity and self help.

In the Independent Film world, we know that sometimes these wonderful films don't always get the recognition and distribution they deserve. However, in doing a little research I found that occasionally fans can help remedy this.

How, you ask? It could be as simple as clicking 'send' on an email.

Oh! Well look here...a letter, already drafted up and itching to be sent to movie theatres and film distributors…

- - -
To Management and Distributors:

I am contacting you today, to talk about Independent Films…and not just the genre as a whole, but one Independent film in particular:

How To Be
(Sometimes we need a little help…)

“A wry coming-of-age comedy about twenty-something Art (Robert Pattinson) who gets dumped by his girlfriend, moves back in with his parents and hits a quarter-life crisis. Art uses inheritance money to indulge in retail and new age therapies only to end up enlisting the help of an eccentric self-help guru, Dr. Ellington (Powell Jones). Arts painfully funny journey to define his existence brings to the fore the dysfunctional relationship he has with his parents and the importance in his life of his odd-ball friends. How To Be is a timely look at increasingly common phenomena: grown-up children living at home, frustrated creativity and self-help.” -IMDb

We all need a little help sometimes, and so does this film's release. It has originality and artistic quality written all over it, as well as a great cast including the rising young star, Robert Pattinson. So, what could be the problem?

Well, as I said, it’s an Independent Film…it may not even make it to big screen, which would be an artistic travesty. Everyone can relate to Art; whether it be his going through this ‘quarter life crisis,’ dealing with a dysfunctional family, or feeling frustrated at work or in your relationships - we’ve all been there...

You, as theatre managers and film distributors have the power to make a difference, to help bring artistry and recognition not only to How To Be, but also to the Independent Film genre as a whole. This film deserves to have much recognition, not to mention a theatre release. This is where YOU come in. Help to bring this film, How To Be, to your theatres…with the response it has gotten so far in reviews and on the Film Festival circuit, I think you’ll be surprised and pleased with the outcome!

Please, let us know what else you need to help this come to fruition…How To Be fans as well as Robert Pattinson fans around the world are ready to support this film and help it get the recognition it deserves.

Have to say that although I would probably love anything Rob Pattinson is in,
this is still one of the best films I've ever seen. Funny, touching, every
emotion I can think of.
Love it, love Rob!
Jasline Devereaux  - WENT TO THE SCREENING. SO FUNNY!   |2009-04-30 00:11:12
I went to the screening here in Chicago on April 22, 2009. Not only did I see
the movie, I got to meet Rob's co-stars who played his best friends in the
movie. Also the Director, Oliver Irving was there as well, along with the guy
who did the Score for the film. Oliver is short! But other than that, they all
were cool and autographed my movie postcards for me. I had a ball.
This movie
was awesome, and the whole theater went hysterical.
If you haven't seen this,
please put it on you To-Do list.
mdean   |2009-05-03 02:14:28
Anxious to see it!

Hey, mr. Kelly. How are you? Nice to hear from you in here. A few days ago I saw
the Twilight movie for the first time with my best friend, and I thought: Oh my
god! Edward Culles's acting in this movie is so good. I've never heard or seen
Robert before, and I never thought I could fell in love with him. Till that day,
when I saw the movie for the first time. My heart beats faster everytime I see a
movie with Robert Pattinson as the maincharacter. I juts love the way he's
acting and he is the best of the best, he's great! My only wish is that, to meet
Robert one beautiful day. And when that day comes, that's when I'm gonna live.
Yesterday I saw the movie, How To Be, and I knew Robert was the maincharacter in
this movie too. That's way I wanted to see it. And guess what, I love it. I can
almost see the movie over and over again. It's like, it's just like a drug to
me. Because I love Robert Pattinson so much, I love the way he loo...
