- - - Twilight's Robert Pattinson, apparently one of the most charming and talented young actors today, also has one of the most ardent and resourceful group of fans who are obviously ready to take on the world. With a total of 3,876 votes, he virtually took over the recent tMF poll. The rest of the leading young actors are: #2: Daniel Radcliffe - 954, #3: Channing Tatum - 176, #4: Daniel Bruehl - 139 and #5: Gaspard Ullie l- 101.. - - - Some Inside Stories: We were hit by a huge amount of traffic starting early this week as the polls opened. The majority of these visitors wanted to move Robert Pattinson up the ranks. We thought we were prepared for this, but apparently we were not.
Indeed we were clueless regarding the extent of Mr. Pattinson's legion of fans! But there were others who also took notice of the poll and managed to help other actors gain votes. With a little less than 1,000 votes cast, Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter himself, took 2nd place. What''s so cool about this is that these two actors worked together in JK Rowling's famous series. While it was mainly Radcliffe's show, it certainly gave Mr. Pattinson the chance to shine. Now it seems it's his turn to hog the limelight. It's not surprising that Channing Tatum is getting noticed - he took third spot. German actor Daniel Bruehl received his share of votes and placed a distant fourth, and finally, rising French star and one of tMF's most popular actors, Gaspard Ulliel, took the fifth place. - - - Even watches today talk about star power. If a hit star wear rolex watches, bingo it is in. IF a flop one wears fossil watches or even the tag heuer watches, it is bad news for the watch... - - -

I don't want to offend the Robert Pattinson fans, but I do find it somewhat odd to have an actor in first place that so far has only really been seen in a supporting role in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". I do realize that the "Twilight" series is very popular, but the film hasn't even been released yet (!).
Maybe I just have a very different idea of what "hottest young actor" means...

While you may offend some Robert Pattinson fans- you should really check out The Haunted Airman. I believe you can find clips of this on You Tube. It features Pattinson, and it's really rather extraordinary. Never forget that fans of Pattinson have seen him in more than just Harry Potter.
 The movie may not be released yet, but when it is...it should be interesting to see which film will get the most buzz. Can Twilight knock out Harry Potter just two weeks after opening? I don't think so, but it will be fun to watch it try. It's going to be a wonderful movie.

He has been in more than just harry potter. I've seen him in quite a few things including his role in The Bad Mother's Handbook (a british drama thingy) and he was fantastic in it. He's very talented and he seems so naturally charismatic. I can't wait to see where he's going.

I'm not saying he isn't talented, I just think it's a little too early to rank him above critically acclaimed actors like Ryan Gosling, James McAvoy, Gael García Bernal or Daniel Brühl.

Robert is a superb actor…he just hasn’t performed in any major American films. I think the “naysayers” will be pleasantly surprised by his performance in “Twilight” (which is only the beginning for this fine young actor)

I think the fans has voted and they choose Robert Pattinson! Yeah, some of the actors have more movies and more awards and more fans (which i doubt) but since the votes was way way up there, I see no reason why we shld spoil the fun. Let's celebrate RPatz fans!

I find it very telling that the actors who came in first and second are Harry Potter alumni. Obviously the votes are for the roles they played, and in the case of Pattinson, the role he's about to play. Twilight fever was the driving force, not the candidates' talent.

Hottest young actor? Would that mean that number would be the hottest in the physical sense or in the sense if they can act or not. I am a twilight fanatic there is no doubt about that and I LOVE Robert playing Edward Cullen but I would think that there would be more actors deserving of this title. I do think that Robert deserves to be in the top 5 on the basis that he is great actor but the twilight drive is unstoppable. I would have voted for him myself just because he plays Edward Cullen. Twilight rules haha. I agree with AnnaBlume too.

ROBERT PATTINSON IS MADE OF WIN!
Robert Pattinson is perfect in every way. He's probably the best looking person alive, he can act, he can sing and he never looks bad in a picture.

AnnaBlume, no offence to YOU but maybe you should do some research so you have some grounds for your comments- besides, in Harry Potter Robert did't even have a supporting role, it was a minor role. He has gone on, since Harry Potter to star in a few credible pieces- it's qualiy not quantity that count. Unlike most of the Potter stars, he has acted in far more serious films and is obviosuly talented. Of course, it's because of his up coming role in Twilight that he has a wider spectrum of fans now, but thats not a bad thing-

Excellent! WTG Spunk
Well, the Spunk-Meister did it! What can I say... yes it's true he only had a minor role in HP and GOF, but it opened up a whole bunch of projects for him. Anyone who's seen The Haunted Airman can clearly see that he's a brilliant actor. I personally haven't seen "How To Be", but from the trailers, I can truly say that he can emote well, and his acting is simply excellent... way better than Dan Radcliffe (sorry, that's just my opinion). He's versatile, and as far as his fan base goes, it's growing more and more each day. Getting the role of Edward is a fantastic way of adding another great movie on his growing list of performances. It shows that he has a lot of potential in the future. And yes, we, his fans, will stick with him all the way!
Plus the fact that no matter how he looks in any picture, all over the magazines and online, he always looks unbelievably gorgeous. So yes, he deserves to be #1 as the hottest young actor.

WHILE HANGING OUT AT THE SET..............RPATZ
OK so I was at the set in Valencia when they were filming and we were all anxiously waiting for Robert to come out. First location of filming ended and he was the only one that could not come out.
Catherine (The Director) was so kind to come over and told us that he is preparing for a roll. He really preps himself for the rolls he plays and therefore will sign and take pictures after the next scene is filmed. As you can see by the photos below that I had taken, he did come out at the end of his last shoot. RPATZ WILL be the youngest HOTEST Actor out there with not only looks but acting skills to which he takes very seriously. ROB PATTINSON ALL THE WAY!

The Bad Mother's Handbook is probably one of the sweetest (TV) movies ever made.
People who only know Robert Pattinson from Harry Potter are ignorant fools. Do some research before you start to crow. Anyone who has even seen Robert Pattinson talk in an interview and then watched the Twilight trailer has to be amazed at how he is almost unrecognizable. I love Gaspard and Daniel too, but Robert is absolutely perfect for this role.

Women are horrible
I can see both sides of the argument very clearly and i support both. When i first saw robert pattinson i was like (he is suppose to be handsome?). I was extremely dissapointed because he is not very good looking. I also agree that the twilight fans are more than the actual pattinson fans. If this pole would have been conducted before the twilight movie pattinson would not have been chosen. But as i see more of him on film i like him more every day, not only because of the twilight movie but i do believe he is an awesome actor. Gaspard Ulliel is hot, no doubt about that but you also have to give some credit to robert. HE may not be the hottest actor out there, but in twilight he looks gorgeous. Hot is only a perspective and while some see him as hot others don't but come on some people even think Marilyn Manson is hot. So just be nice to each other and give positive feedback instead of trying to tear each other out.

Hate me if you will but i have a right to voice my opinions over silly crazed Twilight fangirls!-yes i like Twilight, and YES, i am happy for the movie!, but let me remind you that dissing Gaspard is way OTT and you should kindly close your mouths and read what i have to type!. a) Gaspard NEVER asked to be Edward! -Meaning that degrading the poor guy is rude and absolutely childish, considering it was the FANS that wanted him as Edward. b) We have a DREAM TEAM cast! -Meaning that yes, i still believe Edward to be the close to perfection; Gaspard!. c) Robert is not the best looker! -Meaning that perhaps Twi-Hards should STOP voting with whatever trash the hype tells you and vote with your brains!. Rob Rules!!!!
I am not shocked to know that as early as April he is ruling polls of the hottest. He deserves it not only because of his looks or because he is Edward Cullen but because he has the acting chops to make it. How To Be gave him his first best actor award and with the release of Little Ashes in the Raindance Film Festival more people are realizing that the hype surrounding Rob is a hype that is well deserved.
