I'm not a big fan of Tobey Maguire, perhaps I never will be! But I think it's about time to get someone else to play the role of Spiderman. While many of you might disagree with me, I think Maguire's performance was not impressive at all for an actor with so much hype to his name. I wish Jake Gyllenhaal had played the Marvel hero, but it seems now that Jake will never play that role. - - -
![]() - - - Rumors on a new 'casting scoop' have been posted all over the internet. Unfortunately, a lot of these so-called 'scoops' are not based on fact. Cinematical, one of the most reliable sites for legitimate movie news and 'scoops' had a lot to say about this 'news': A few days ago, Latino Review broke the news that Patrick Fugit was being considered as the heir to the Spider-Man throne. His suitability was hotly debated, but apparently all for nothing if the Internet is to be believed. But I'm getting off-topic already (to a certain degree!). If you were to choose who should play the next Spiderman, who would be your first choice? Jim Sturgess. Fabulous screen presence! He has all the qualities of a leading man - charming, talented, and he's definitely physically fit enough to take on the demanding role of the Marvel superhero. Michael Angarano. Definitely the right choice to play Anakin Skywalker! He's been playing heroes since he was a child. With great screen presence, he's definitely one of today's most talented young actors. Patrick Fugit. Indie actor Fugit was announced by a movie site to be the next Spiderman! How come? Well, he's also one of today's most talented young actors. Remember Almost Famous? I forgot to mention another great young actor, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Now, that's a fantastic choice! I dunno if he'd be interested in playing movie franchises, but the guy certainly can act and he's quite frank about his opinions too! On another note, I would not even dare to imagine Orlando Bloom being given the role? Even more surprising would be Michael Pitt or perhaps Hayden Christensen? That's four awesome actors already (and three rather bad choices), but there are lots of other actors who could be considered, of course! x |
