But do we have to feature Rob again? How about Kristen? That will happen sooner than you think. Just wait and see! Back to Rob. As you know, we've launched our first special project and it involves Mr. Pattinson's latest movie called Little Ashes. We've asked for volunteers and the fans responded so overwhelmingly, we were stunned! Now that things have calmed down a bit, one of the group's foremost leaders said:
I think that's to be expected. There is this parallel again with Heath Ledger. Again? Wait...hear me out! I was involved in a promotional project called 'I'm Not There' the movie promotion starring of course, the late young actor and the fan in me also went into the background. While the movie was not entirely successful in the box office and the project fizzled, I looked at Heath in a different way- not just an actor to watch in movies, but a person who would not take money just to star in a forgettable movie. He'd rather have starved than do something he simply didn't like. Here's Robert and he's got exactly the same sentiments:
How's that for someone some people regard as just a pretty face? - - - Moving on, people (most of them are fans, of course) have asked me is Robert really that popular? Well, as you can see, my last article about Rob reached more than 12,000 hits and still counting. But can we have a more independent source? That's the question many would asked. Ok, here's what I just got. According to the latest STARmeter rankings, the late Heath Ledger continues to rule - due to his awesome performance in the Dark Knight. He remains at #1. But closely moving (again) is Robert Pattinson, now ranked #4. Here's what I said just a few days ago:
That means in the span of 4 days, Rob went from #14 to #4. In the Most Popular Under 25, he rules! Say what you want about the STARmeter being rigged or hacked or whatever, but that's the results. Here's the screenshot: - - -
- - - You might have noticed Robert still has no picture at IMDb. That's a shame... But to end on a high note, I'm quoting the actor once again (you'll find more of this in an upcoming awesome article soon!):
What's on your mind? Tell us what you think of tMF's Monday Double Whammy feature? - - - x

I dont actually think you are overlooking Kristen. She already has an established career with Seab Penn even working with her. The focus on Rob I feel is because fans can sense its a critical time for his career. It could become something immense like Heath's or Depp's etc. OR because of the nature of Twilight he could be mistakenly only seen as a pretty boy. That would be tragic. Particularly when he has been so determined to do other more art house flavoured work like Little Ashes. tMF doesnt have to explain itself again and again - we understand completely why you are giving some valuable PR to Rob. He deserves it.

I think soya's point on twilight maybe becoming a poisoned chalice for Rob is a valid one. He is doing other more highbrow work (sorry twilight fans dont take that badly) but Twilight wont be seen by critics as a film to judge acting ability. Which in a way is a shame as I suspect its a pig of a role to pull off and I'm sure Rob will perform brilliantly.
Consequently any PR that can help showcase Rob's other work is essential. I'm pleased that tFM act quickly when they see an actor that they can support. One thats truly worthy of the attention.

As a british actor I do think its harder for Rob. Not many make it to the very top. Only Bale is really there which McAvoy at the next rung. Rob is the first Brit in a long while that could step in to take the top spot in Hollywood. He has it all:
TALENT - CHARISMA - SEX APPEAL -LEADING MAN LOOKS - CONVINCING AMERICAN ACCENT - ON SCREEN PRESENCE - NATURAL ABILITY - EASE WITH COMEDY AND DRAMA I'd love to see him do it so tMF's support is very valuable.

All I know is that Rob and the potential his career has excites me. He's the only actor that excites me in that way. I'm virtually seeing him as a project in my head. He makes me want to go out and bang a drum so people will take notice. Its not his looks, even if they are edible, but the mixture of talent, unique personality, a little bit of danger and unpredictability thrown in for good measure and charisma that draws me to him so I completely understand tMF's attraction. He's the sort of actor a site like this wantz to talk about. He'll keep you on your toes. One minute appearing in a true Hollywod film looking like a greek god and then a quirky low budget character driven piece that will shock and surprise you. He's the sort of actor sites like this were made for. I'm rather proud that you jumped into help Little Ashes. Its great that he inspires such commitment.

Someone on IMDB (where fans are discussing remakes Rob could appear in) flagged up Malcolm McDowell and the lead role in IF (Lindsay Anderson film) or Clockwork Orange. Its been bugging me that I couldnt remember who Rob reminded me of (not in looks but charisma and talent) and its a young Malcolm McDowell. Rob would suit that rebellious role perfectly.
He excites me too tMF and fans so you really dont have to justify the support. I'm thrilled to bits.

I dont want to get side tracked by looks but gosh that photo of Rob is mesmerising.
,

...
i feel like his beauty is going to be a curse for him, and that makes me sad. like i can see he wants to be taken seriously and not just do fluffy roles that make him money for which he was hired for his looks, but i have a feeling that Twilight, based on its young teenage girl fanbase, is only going to have his looks in mind when they think of him. however, he can choose roles that make his looks less of the focus.
,
August 25, 2008
At the top where he belongs!
TMF you are spoiling us! But I like it. Don't stop. Robert deserves all this and more. He's a phenomenal actor and every bit of light and attention sent his way is going to help get him noticed. I'm very excited about the project you all started with "Little Ashes". I feel like you guys understand and see everything his fans see. The talent, the man, the person behind his dashing good looks. Can I just say this site is a daily stop for me, and not just once. You guys rock! Keep doing what your doing.

But do we have to feature Rob again?
Uhhh, yes! Why not! We ALL enjoy more information on Rob. He is talented and deserves every bit of attention he is getting.. I'd vote for Little Ashes Wednesday, How to Be Thursday... Free For All Friday...
Keep up the awesome work! ~L~

This is exactly what I needed today. Robert Pattinson is not only a beautiful human being, but a brilliant actor. I love his take on the fame thing. It's obvious he's not out making movies to get famous and rich. He wants to make movies to get something more meaningful out of it. Thank you for the article. Greatly appreciated.

Hi, I love the work you are doing on thie site! Could you please tell me where this quote came from: I didn’t want to get stuck in pretty, public school roles, or I knew I’d end up as some sort of caricature. Playing Dali has been a complete turning point for me. It’s the first part I’ve had that has required really serious thought.
Thanks!

I love Fullows line. Free for all Friday. Brilliant.
At the end of the day Rob's fans are proactive, intelligent, and support various sites so why shouldnt they get a bit of love and some articles. I think when I see the trailer for Little Ashes I might explode with joy.

...
For those concerned that Twilight may cast a shadow over Rob's persona, I really don't think that's the case. Twilight is definitely more of a blockbuster than Rob's independant films and the large level of exposure will open him up to he eyes of the rest of Hollywood. With more job opportunities, Robert will be more able to pick and choose projects to his liking.

I hope your right Tal I really do. It exciting to think of him playing a variety of testing roles. I really want him stretched because I think there's a huge amount of untapped talent.

#1 baby!
I really enjoyed this article. I;m so happy that's he's #1 on the starmeter. Very cool! I would really love it if he added a photo too. Someone needs to get in touch with his people. Anyway, thanks for this I love it!

Rob should be featured everyday!
Why not recognize true talent when it is so obvious... that is what I say. Rob offers a complete talented package that Hollywood, so needs. We know he is on the verge of something big. I believe that is what drives us to help push him over the edge, we want more people to get to know his work.
,
August 25, 2008
It's BIG!
Exactly Jenbarn. It's so close we can taste it. Robert is unlike many of the hollywood actors out there right now. That's another reason why I think people need to open their eyes and see for themselves just how special Robert is. I hope that Twilight does this for him.
,
August 25, 2008
Love me some ROB everyday!
I'm so glad he's at #1 on the starMETER. The attention he seems to be getting is only going to get bigger. It's crazy because Twilight isn't even out till Nov21. And he's already creating so much buzz. I wonder if he's even aware. What's special about him is, he doesn't seem to even care about that. He's just out doing the best he can with every role and isn't out for the fame and fortune.
TMF you all need to get a Robert Pattinson interview. That would be AMAZING!
,
August 25, 2008
Unique!
I can't pinpoint what makes Robert so special. He has so many wonderful qualities. I think the appeal for me, aside from being super talented and drop dead gorgeous. He's diffrent, in all the right ways. I love how he's so down to earth, so normal. I hope he never changes. And TMF thanks 4 all the ROBERT love!

The Rob Family step UP!
I'm so happy to hear that he took the #1 spot. His fans are amazing. I've never seen anything like it. The fans genuinely care about Robert the person, rather than just Robert the actor etc. They just always seem to come through for him. The great thing about it is, he really deserves it.

I've only been a fan of his just a couple of months, and already he takes over my entire mind. He captivates me like no one ever has. His movies have me in awe. He demands my attetion on screen. That's a directors dream come true. He's going to be at the top of every list, every poll and award show. Just watch!

Time for total honestly here. I'd never heard of Robert Pattinson until Jed started featuring him, and Twilight, here. At first the comparison to Heath Ledger--whom I have long admired--did make me (as he correctly predicted) bristle. I kept it to myself, though, because I feel very strongly that it's wrong to judge an actor before you've seen his work. (Yes...I'm one of the few people alive who've never seen any of the Harry Potter movies).
I've still yet to see any of his performances, so I can't honestly comment on him as an actor. HOWEVER "Little Ashes" intrigues me to no end. I love indie films and I love Salvador Dali, so I feel very strongly that this movie is worth championing. Secondly, thanks to the above quotes from Mr. Pattinson regarding fame and acting, I'm no longer bristling at the comparisons to Mr. Ledger. Full speed ahead!

What can I say...
that hasn't been said already.
I usually have a lot to say on the subject of Rob, as any of you who frequent tMF know! But, right now all I can say is this well more than deserved. Rob's always been #1 to his fans, good to see everyones recognizing this as well.

kellagood's comment was extremely fair. If you've not seen Rob's work then of course comparisons will make you roll your eyes. The HP link just drags him down. But I hope people can see from comments posted on here under various threads that there wouldnt be such a passionate response if he didnt have something special. Rob's tFM fanbase arent squeeling teens.

I hope he knows
I have seen nothing but positive feedback from all those who have had the opportunity to meet him. This is why I don't mind giving my time, as a group effort we can make a difference for him.
I really hope he knows he does have people that are looking out for his best interest and want the best for him. I cringe everytime I am reminded that he was aware of all the negative attention that came with the annoucement he would be playing Edward Cullen. He deserves better!!!

RPatz #1 Satrmeter
I think Robert will go far not only because of his acting btu also becuase of his attitude. I admire his choice of roles as well as his realistic attitude about his life. It is nice to hear someone say that they are happy with their lives.
Thanks again for a great article...looking forward to more.

What a wonderful way to end a Monday! Supporting Rob's other movie's besides Twilight is honoring all of his work thus far. I am pleased that his popularity with the film Twilight will expose other people to work they may not get to see in Mainstream theatre's. Indie films are so incredible but lack the marketing budget, or wide market appeal to gain a large veiwing audience. More often than not, it is the best acting and script writing I've experienced. A college course I took for what I thought was an easy A exposed me to films and festivals and hooked me. It is rare that I ever watch what many call box office hits. Music coincidently is much the same. Highly marketed music is usually bubblegum. I was worried about Twilight as a film, but from the trailers, I am encouraged that it will hit the mark. Since I am an art buff, The Dali project and the nature of Dali's relationships with others, is really what I can't wait for next. Of course I am stoked about Twilight. I am not 14 anymore (thank God what a hideaous time): But I can certainly appreciate their squealing!! Maybe if Rob were around when I was! My teen years would have been more bearable. HA HA !! If at the end of the day the twiligth Army of fans open themselves up to other films beyond the marketing machine, we are all winners. Keep up the good work TMF!

Haha, you really are spoiling us all with so much Rob. Thank you. We ain't complaining, now are we?
I think it's time for MTV to have a little competition! Bring it! Congrats to the talented RPattz for scoring #1, which he deserves, unlike some people, *coughMegan Foxcough*. Lots of love from the Rob Family & me, Natasha

How do we feel about Monday double whammy? I say hit us as often as you like with news about Rob, right now we just can't get enough of him. Obviously, he has acquired a sizable fan following as evidenced by all the activity on the web. I think his popularity is growing as a result of how he has handled all the media and fan attention from Twilight. He has a very endearing quality that comes through in his interviews.
,
August 25, 2008
We all just love him!
Rob Pattinson is one of those truly charismatic people who just seem to get under your skin. His acting to a certain degree lays open his soul and everyone can find some kind of quirk or behavior that they have experienced or can relate to. When you see him in interviews he just makes you wonder how fun would it be to go out to lunch with him and hear his thought processes out loud. And that smile combined with his boisterous laugh...YUM!
I'm so glad to see that Rob has developed such a wide variety of very intelligent fans who can appreciate his talent. Thanks again tMF for keeping me up to date yet again!

Robert McBrilliant Pattinson
Robert has this aura about him that just automatically draws people in - both on the big screen and in every day interviews. It's so hard to put my finger on (that mysteriousness is part of what I love about him) but I think basically it's because he's so genuine. He knows what he wants from life, and obviously he cares about making a quality character come to life rather than making big bucks. It annoys me to no end when us Robert fans are described a bunch of squealing fangirls. Its as if we just love him for his good looks (and, come on ladies, that's part of it). But certainly, what makes us admire him way more than anything is his personality and his beyond brilliance when on camera. We have brains, and we see major potential when it comes our way. Robert is shining star in the vast galaxy that is the acting industry and all this attention and regonition of the true person behind the gorgeous face is so well deserved.
To end this, I say, Go Rob! XD

I loved the part about the fame. He just amazes me more each day. How real and genuine he is. We need a world full of Robert Pattinson's. Though I must say, I'm very happy with the one we got. He's special, very very special. TMF thank you for all the Rob news and updates, you guys are the best.

So do people think Pattinson could be the first British actor to hit the No 1 Hollywood actors spot. I mean the Brad Pitt or Matt Damon of the industry? I;d be interested if tMF could talk to people in the industry to do its own analysis. At this rate tMF could be a EW style of site for the more discerning readers.
