Welcome to the second edition of tMF Monday Double Whammy! Here is where we post articles about the cast of Twilight and much more! While our first article is quite serious and deals with how teens relate to their parents and how Twilight is making a difference, this article is lighter and more fun!

People have been asking, why not do a piece on Kristen Stewart? Actually we already did, many weeks ago, when we featured her new movie called Yellow Handerchief, but we are always happy to oblige. So in celebration of Miss Stewart's budding career as an actress, we've come up with our own look into her work so far...

- - -

The young actress has yet to prove her mettle when it comes to leading roles, especially in terms of her ability to attract audiences and do something with box office receipts and the like. But if we look back at some of her previous roles, we'll see that there is something special about this young girl - and it's what keeps the Twilight fans asking for more.

I first saw Kristen in David Gordon Green's Undertow with Jamie Bell. It was a supporting role but her presence lingered. She may not be the most glamorous young actress in Hollywood today, but she definitely has screen presence. Her short but memorable role made me curious. Who is Kristen Stewart?

Not just because I worked with her but Jodie Foster is obviously a role model. She's not just an actress, she's not one-dimensional. She has more than one creative outlet. She's a writer, a producer, a director. She has a pretty level head on her shoulders and I like the idea that she can keep her personal life private and separate from what she does. I admire most of her values. She's pretty cool.

I think that says a lot about Kristen. Having worked with Jodie Foster certainly made a big impression on the actress, and some of her roles actually mirror the early career choices made by Oscar-winning actress herself.

Her role choices remain consistent and diverse - she has played a mix of serious and light roles - as a victim of date rape in Speak, as an aspiring singer and loner in Into the Wild, as a young girl falling in love in In the Land of Women. You can't accuse her of picking boring roles, can you?

Is she the next Jodie Foster? There was a survey recently conducted - I forget exactly who did it - but Foster was quoted as saying (in reply to the question regarding who she thinks is following her footsteps) that Dakota Fanning looks like it.

Fans of Kristen certainly disagreed and made it their business to say so. I also have no idea what the final results looked like but to think she can muster such a huge number of fans to rally for her says a lot.

But is she as good as Foster? Maybe not at the moment but with a few more challenging roles and with working with some of the best filmmakers, she certainly has a good chance. But I think she's on her own as a young and promising talent.

I remember when I was little, I didn't have any inhibitions. I wasn't embarrassed about doing anything. When you get older, I don't know what it is, it's not that you get more insecure, you're just maybe more self-aware. It's just kind of something that happens. You try to do the best you can and that's pretty much all you can do.

That's the kind of attitude you don't often see in many Hollywood's celebrities and that's what separates Miss Stewart from the more publicity-hungry gals.

tMF Top 5 Kristen Stewart movies: Our poll puts Kristen at the top of the rankings among the top 30 hottest young actresses. While fans of other young talents might disagree, let's list five of her movies that might make you change your mind about Kristen:

1. Speak (2004): Kristen plays teenager Melinda Sordino who enrolls in high-school while dealing with a great deal of rejection and becomes practically mute as a result. Her school mates and friends call her "squealer" because she called the police during a summer party; she does not have a close relationship with her mother, Joyce Sordino (played by Elizabeth Perkins), who is workaholic and permanently busy; and she has a problem with a very radical teacher. She finds great support from her arts teacher Mr. Freeman (Steve Zahn) and her school friend David Petrakis (Michael Angarano). She recalls her traumatic experience in the summer school, when she was raped, and learns how to deal with the situation and get her life back together again. Remarked a viewer:

Kristen Stewart's the complete embodiment of Melinda. She does things with her face that actors twice her age with twice her experience only wish they could do.

- - -

2. Into the Wild (2007): Sean Penn's acclaimed movie and Emile Hirsch's career-defining role also gave Kristen Stewart the chance to shine. As Tracy Tatro, she plays the love interest of the Hirsch character and gets to sing in front of an audience. Says Kristen:

Music is one of the most emotionally expressive things you can do. If I’m not feelin’ it, I can’t sing. Those two nights [where she sings for a crowd in the film], something was going on. It’s not always that you can give that much. But, yeah, it’s intimidating. I went in and played "Blackbird” for him. That’s a hard song to sing to. I’m not a singer. I can play it but he was really funny about it. He asked me if I didn’t want him to look at me. "Do you want me to turn around?” "No, you have to see it.” But, I’d never done anything like that. It takes a guy like Sean to make you come to it and pump out the words.

- - -

3. In the Land of Women (2007): They look good together, Kristen and Adam Brody. Although Kristen needs to soften up and be a bit more hilarious, I think her understated acting played quite well opposite Brody's often wacky character. Brody is certainly the only young actor in The O.C. who can act. But this kind of movie gave Kristen the chance to work with A-list talents like Meg Ryan. Here are some scens of the movie [ courtesy of youtube ]

- - -

- - -

4. Undertow (2004): An absolutely gem of a film, this David Gordon Green features stars Josh Lucas, Jamie Bell and Dermot Mulroony. Not for everyone, but certainly one of the most original and exciting movies I've seen. Kristen plays Lila, Chris Munn's (played by Jamie Bell) love interest. Its a short role and she made quite an impression.

- - -

5. Panic Room (2002): While critics lambasted the movie, there is no denying that  a new talent was born. Kristen plays the teenage daughter of Jodie Foster who are imprisoned in the panic room of their own house by three criminals.

- - -

The Last Word: As Twilight fans await the November release of the movie, many are wondering how Kristen will play Bella? Says Kristen:

Bella is a very honest... I mean, I could relate to her because she's just a very straight-up, good-natured girl who found herself in an insane position... [She's] seemingly logical, and then all of the sudden she's thinking of herself as a psychotic person and [she's] just swept away by something more powerful than her. Every girl wants to lose herself. And Bella started out hard and just lost it, and that's what I really loved about it.

- - -

What's on your mind? What do you think of Kristen Stewart? Will she play the perfect Bella? Do you think in time she'll become one of cinema's biggest stars?

complete faith
I have never once doubted Kristen's performance as Bella. Having seen her in a few of her films, In the Land of Women being the most recent, I knew she could handle the role, and definitely looked the role too boot...to me.

I can also see Kristen following in Jodi's footsteps as well. Choosing roles based on the character...which yes - may mean seeing less of her, like Jodi...but that turns into more of her really...more substance...so yes, to her being one of cinema's biggest stars...not too far down the road as well. Now, we just need to be patient as she gets there...

Love Kristen!
i absolutely adore kristen as bella. In my opinion, the reason why i have high hopes for twilight is because Kristen is in it. I've seen all 5 of those films on your list, and she is one of those actresses that do have that screen presence that captivates you. I"m so excited for her upcoming roles after twilight, they seem equally diverse as well as features some more big name stars. (Adventureland, dramady/comedy, and Welcome to the Riley's)

Alot of people seem weary, but I am positive that everyone will be surprised by Kristen's performance smilies/smiley.gif

Kristen can do it!
When I first saw they cast Kristen for Bella I was kind of worried.. just for the fact that Bella is plain jane, very mousy and Kristen is too pretty smilies/cheesy.gif lol but after seeing the trailers and interviews w/ her I know that she can pull it off.. I love Kristen in Into the Wild and looking forward to seeing her in Twilight..

Just the eyes...
She really is a good Bella, (not originally in my top ten choices, but I can see her as a solid Bella) the only problem I had was her eyes. In that picture, they're blue, and well, the first thing Edward really focused on was her chocolate brown eyes in Twilight. Just saying. Anybody know if she got contacts for the part??

Undertow is indeed a wonderful film. All of the young actors in it are outstanding. Thanks for the Kristen spotlight.

She's going to be great!
I think that Kristen is doing a really good job as Bella! She looks the part and she is also a great actress. I've seen almost all of her movies and she did a really good job in all of them. Especially the Speak, she did a fantastic job in that film smilies/grin.gif

BELLA OF COURSE
She is getting contacts, Sarahlovesyou. Pretty much everyone does haha. Well the Cullens, Bella, and the Nomads.

Kristen is perfect for Bella. She just brings in an awkard and shy tone. Kristen has got the fidget thing going on, so it's a perfect role to put it in. She perfect!

Dakota Fanning is 10000000000000000 times better than Kristen, even at her young age. And more popular.

I am glad to hear a little more about Kristen. I haven't has the pleasure of watching all of her movies yet so I can't judge her acting thus far, but just the variety of roles, and the comments from reviewers about her powerful portrayals makes me want to know more. She seems like a genuine and grounded person in Hollywood, which can be hard, I hope she stays that way even if/when she hits it big.

I like Kristen. The one thing I can think of that I don't like about her is that her voice is a little monotone when she is supposed to be emotional.
HOWEVER, I think Kristen is a great actress when she wants to be. There aren't many young actresses out there that could show the depth of a character like Kristen Stewart does.

Contacts???
I just thought of this... When I watched the Twilight trailer, James didn't appear to have redish tinted contacts!!! OMG!!! I thought they were going to have contacts on!!!

KS and Dakota
I've seen both Kristen and Dakota in several roles. Whereas Dakota has always had this maturity about her acting (almost as if she's been doing it for 20 years), I've always found Kristen more magnetic on the screen. You can't help but follow her every moment or gesture. It doesn't matter who else is in the same shot, or what else is going in within the scene, your eyes stay glued to Kristen. I'm just as excited as the next person to see what roles she delivers in the future. The same goes for Dakota smilies/wink.gif

Kristen seems to be very mature and obviously takes the characters she plays seriously. I think she will be a wonderful Bella and I hope she really gets a chance to share her talent with the world in other movies as her career grows. Yay Kristen smilies/grin.gif

Kristen's a good actor and all, but she has a very strong personality. Edward is supposed to be the very strong character, but Kristen makes Edward look a little like a klutz. smilies/cry.gif

Ever since they anouonced that Kristen would be Bella I knew they couldn't have made a better choice, and now that we've actually seen the trailers I know I was right. The whole trailer my eyes were glued to her(and thats hard when you've got Rob P, Jackson, Peter, and Cam standing next to her!) and after watching the trailer for the hundreth time I realized I wasnt really observing anyone else but her. She's like a magnet on screen! I can't wait to see her alongside Robert. I know they both did brilliantly in portraying Bella and Edward.
jovanna , September 01, 2008
YES
My friends and I rented every movie we could find with Kristen Stewart as soon as we found out that she was Bella in Twilight. We wanted to see all the different acting styles that she had or could possibly have. To this day we check the satalite every day to see if anything with Kristen, Rob or Twilight is going to be shown...That's how we got to see "SPEAK" which was AWESOME by the way.

Misty , September 01, 2008
Kristen is someone who would surprise you.
Thats my thought. I don't know why but she seemed as though the roles that she pick would surprise us. I somehow feel she isn't like Jodie Foster at all. In the aspects of an Oscar Winner, yes but in the aspect of an actress, not at all. I think she represents fresh and new terms of an actress. Dakota Fanning too. Both share the same freshness in the acting world. Though somehow Kristen appealed more to me on screen. On without any doubts, Kristen is a great deal of young actress to this generation.
Lil , September 01, 2008
I Think Kristen is the Perfect Bella
I think Kristen is the Perfect Bella. She has that shyness yet independant spark Bella has. And she looks even better with Rob beside her smilies/wink.gif I'm super excited for the movie. I've heard a lot of complains about her voice, but I think it's perfect because I never imagined Bella's voice to sound all girly like maybe Jessica's voice would. I thik Kristen will be an amazing Bella. smilies/smiley.gif

To Tori
Tori: They are wearing contacts. It's kind of hard to see them in James but on one of the many interviews the cast have made, (I'm not sure which one) Rachelle said they were all wearing them. (Even Kristen because her eyes are blue, I think, and obviously Bella's eyes are brown) smilies/smiley.gif
Daisy , September 01, 2008 | url
Kristen is the best Bella ever!!!!
I think Kristen is the most perfect Bella ever - she's exactly as I had imagined her to look, I think she can pull off every emotion and feeling Bella has, her voice is exactly how I had imagined Bella's voice to sound and she can hold the lead of the movie..

Kristen really understands Bella as well which is awesome.. From what I have seen from the trailers and clips released so far for Twilight Rob & Kristen are doing a fantastic job of capturing Edward and Bella just right.. They'll be absoutely fantastic - I love everything I have seen from the trailers and clips so far - I can't wait to see Twilight - I am soooo excited!!!!

Kristen is my favourite actress and I'm looking forward to see her more as Bella (hopefully the other books New Moon/Eclipse and Breaking Dawn are made into movies) and in her other future projects..
Mrs Cullen , September 01, 2008
...
Kristen Stewart is, in my mind, without a doubt an phenomenal actress. The maturity in her acting has surely grown. However, whenever I see interviews with her, she comes off as cold and intimidating. That made me worried if her hard personality would effect her role as Bella. (Seeing as how Bella is very sensitive, a romantic, and shy). Ever since I first read Twilight, even before I knew it was going to be made into a film, Kristen is what I visioned as the perfect Bella. I do admire Kristen and in no way do I mean any disrespect towards her. I think in the next 10 years, she will be one of the most high profiled celebs. smilies/smiley.gif
Claire , September 01, 2008
She's totally my idol.
She's extremely mature and she's a great actress. All the roles that she plays are really diverse and she can go from bubbly to .... well... depressed. Lucy to Melinda. Plus, she's going to be an amazing Bella! While I read the books, I pictured her and Rob, and they just fit.

Plus, I have a huge crush on her current boyfriend, Michael Angarano. Woo Woo!
KD , September 01, 2008
Over-rated.
Honestly? I think she's one of the most over rated actresses around... more people seem to give her credit as an actress based on her personal life, because she isn't one of those stupid bleach blonde trampy girls plastered in make-up that love the limelight. They think that makes her a "serious actress". I'm not saying she's a terrible actress, she's good at some roles but she's not as good as a lot of people make out. Her voice and facial expressions are monotonous making her potrayal of some emotions seem forced, fake or just non-existent.

I don't think she can pull off the role of Bella, she seems to try and be too serious in her role and in any of the footage released so far instead of looking like she's in love with Edward she looks bored, like she'd rather be anywhere else in the world but with him.

Maybe they're saving her best acting for the movie and keeping it a surprise for us, I hope they are and that she'll prove me wrong.

I think Kristen is an amazing actress at certain roles, the ones where she's acting scared or depressed - she's good at that, but I don't find her acting convincing when she's acting in love.
Allie , September 02, 2008
Professional
Kristen is awesome. Not just because she sper pretty, but the fact that she is smart and can act. s well as being pretty. Think about Paris Hilton, pretty but stupid. I have complete faith inher playing Bella, even though Bella was described as uglier. She was the perfect choice. I am a fan of her work see ing every movie she's made and every movie she will make smilies/cheesy.gif I hope kKristen does fill the shoes of Jodie Foster or possibly Audrey Hepburn smilies/shocked.gif so that the world will know her and she can be sucessful.I wish her luck in the future. smilies/grin.gif
Robbo , September 02, 2008
cool
kristen as bella is fine and in fact, i like her being bella just like u guys. but this is gonna make rob's fans out there freak out, i guess, cuz i dont think he makes a good edward. i was picturing edward softer, not as fierce as rob is. but anyway, i like rob too. of course, hes gorgeous.
hanna , September 02, 2008
Over-rated: I agree with Allie
I'm sorry, I know I'm in the minority here but I agree with Allie! I think Kristen is really overated for the sames reasons Allie pointed out. People thinks she's phenomenal b/c she's uber-serious and hasn't played a ditz onscreen. I will give her props on finding interesting roles but as far as giving a good performance in those roles-I don't think so! The only thing she was good in to me was Speak and it wasn't that good. Her role in that fantastic film Undertow must have been that forgettable because I can't recall her for the life of me! I agree with Aliie also on the fact that Kristen is DRY everything from how she talks in that dead voice that registers no emotion to the dead eyes and the dead lines.I really hope that she can pull off Bella(she looks the part to a T!), from the previews we see so much range and depth in Rob's performance and I don't see half as much in hers. As far as the Jodie Foster comparison? No, I agree with Foster comparing herself with Fanning better. Foster and Fanning both have charisma, you can't tear your eyes away from them when they are oncreen! Both have amazing depth (Fanning is young but the roles she's played are all across the board)Foster is amazing from Contact, Silence of the Lambs, to The Brave One for which she was robbed of an Oscar nom!The only similarity I see between her and Kristen is physical.
onegflygirl86 , September 02, 2008
Over-rated: I agree too
i agree with allie and onegflygirl86. actually.
hanna , September 02, 2008
Over-Rated? You're Crazy :)
The buzz is about Twilight but Kristen has 3 other movies that she has done that have yet to be released. One of which she plays a terminally ill girl (The Cake Eaters). She's gotten high praise from critics on that performance. http://www.cinematical.com/200...ake-eaters
Kristen is brilliant at everything she does but she is also very subtle. Dakota Fanning is talented but she has never played a character that I believe is a real person. Always a young girl wise beyond her years, far too articulate, far too mature. It's creepy. I think when an actor can choose to take a character somewhere but it doesn't ring true... they should not take it there just because they are able. If you are playing a character that is reserved and shy - don't make her do something that goes against that just to show your own RANGE. I know some people don't appreciate what Kristen offers. She seems to see her roles within the whole story as opposed to making her performance stand out. There is something special about that. She is a different kind of star. She's not going to break into song or come out with her own fragrance (i don't think!). She also doesn't seem to beg fans to love her by being cheesy and commercial which i think confuses people because we are conditioned to respond to that. Don't kid yourselves, her choices don't really boost her popularity - over-rated? most people don't know who she is... YET. She is 18!! and she is respected by her peers & the industry which I think says a ton about her talent and what she wants to accomplish as an actress. I respect her and will watch any movie she is in. smilies/smiley.gif
LAH , September 02, 2008
Sorry, but I think she's over-rated too....
Totally agree with Allie,Oneflygirl, and Hanna. I don't see the fascination with her at all and I think most of the reccent 'buzz' about her and all these new fans are only due to the Twilight phenomena. She has automatically gained how ever many fans just because she's playing Bella and nothing else. She gives mediocre performances from all the films I've seen her in and I don't think it's because she's 'subtle' either-it's because she just doesn't have alot of range. She plays the same character everytime (I'm not talking about in the roles she chooses) I mean she has one character/personality(schtick) in her repertoire which is the depressed/emotionally devoid/outcast. I guess in the grand scheme of things it's true she's not the worst actress in hollwood (ahem Paris Hilton) but there are MANY an actress in Hollywood who aren't bad but just aren't that good either(which is the category she falls in for me). There are many talented and engaging actresses that deserve ALOT more attention(Romola Garai,Olivia Thirlby, Melonie Diaz,Evan Rachel Wood,Summer Bishil, etc) I could care less how she acts outside of her roles ie making fragrances or breaking into song ! When she's on the screen, to be frank I'm bored to death-it's harsh but it's how I feel.
Lala , September 02, 2008
Hmmm...
I wonder.......could we be dealing we dealing with repeat offenders here?

Interesting
Interesting is the word that comes to mind when I think of Kristen.I see both sides of the argument concerning why she's good and why she's not so good. I think she can only get better with age even if she isn't the BEST we've got to realize she's only 18.
marinemomusa78 , September 02, 2008
...
I agree that Kristen can only get better. She has a certain something. I've seen her in Speak and Into the Wild and she was amazing in both of them. I think she really has what it takes to be Bella. I hope she doesn't feel pressured or stressed out because of the Twilight fandom. I have confidence in her and Rob both. They are perfect.
Rach313 , September 02, 2008
...
Honestly, I truley adore Kristen as the Bella role, and I've always loved her as an actress even before I found out that she'd be playing Bella Swan, she's basically my inspiration for a lot of things, like wanting to become a actress and so on and so forth, I really look up to her, for being able to play so many roles, even though that's what actors do, she's probably the best most talented actress on the center of the earth, no doubt about it and I hope that she carries on with the acting thing as long as she wants to.

GO KRISTEN!
Cierra , September 02, 2008
...
To LAH: I've seen nearly all of Kristen's movies that have been released so far (I even have a lot of them on DVD).

I didn't say I don't like her as an actress, I said I think she's over-rated... as in, not as good as people are making her out to be. They act like she'll be phenomenal in every role she does but all her characters seem to be just variations of the same person because when she's acting she has very little emotional range. It's like the same character over and over again just changing the setting and life experiences they've had.

Some of the movies the way she is works - like in Speak, it was okay for her to be brooding and depressing and dull. That's the way the character was in the book too, but with Twilight we already know what Bella's character is supposed to be like and Kristen makes her too dull and serious.

When she acts, I rarely see the character - I just see Kristen, because a lot of the time she isn't convincing. She doesn't act the characters personality, she uses her own personality (which sometimes makes her characters not very likable -sometimes, not always)

I didn't say she should make the character do something they wouldn't do to show their range, but... take Twilight for example, Bella DOES love Edward. He's her everything but in the footage we've seen so far there's no love there, no emotion in her voice - nothing. The only good acting from Twilight we've seen so far (well, from Kristen) was the bit where she was terrified of James.

That's what I mean about being over-rated, sometimes she's good, sometimes she's terrible other times I'm sure she can be amazing but she can't act certain roles, she's not versatile enough.

Take Ellen Page for example all of her characters are unique and she pulls it off everytime and makes me believe her characters... she was amazing in An American Crime, Hard Candy, Juno, X-men and all of those characters were so different.

To me that's what makes an amazing actress, one that can act in pretty much any role where her characters are notably different each time and Kristen doesn't do that. At least not in my opinion - you don't have to agree with me.

(Oh and Kristen kinda did "break into song" in Into the Wild smilies/cheesy.gif )
Allie , September 02, 2008

Never doubted Kristen, never will.
This girl is a gem, we should all keep an eye out for her
Maria M. , September 02, 2008
I hope you read the article...
I'm amused that some of the comments says that Kristen is over-rated. Actually, if you read my article, I was in the opinion that she has yet to prove herself in terms of spearheading a movie. That means she's under-rated.

Being a superlative actress is not a guarantee that a movie will hit it big time in the box office, as we have seen in a few movies lately- Nicole, Jodie, for instance. Previous articles I have written has stressed the importance of a combination of many things- story, marketing, directing, crew and the cast, plus a major factor is the company that will handle its distribution. But also a major factor is the lead star.

The fact that many of the comments are positive - in relation to her role as Bella - is an indication that fans of the book have accepted the casting choices made by the filmmakers and will be a big factor come Nov 21. So I ask again: Is she ready for the big time? Meaning, can she take the lead in this movie and make it a success?
jed , September 02, 2008
...
Does she even want to be 'big time' anyway? She took the lead so I'll go with yes,she can handle Bella, I don't really think the character is a big stretch for her.
marinemomusa78 , September 02, 2008
...
When i found out that Kristen was going to be playing Bella, i first thought that perhaps someone else could play the part. Then i kept thinking for days who could play Bella and i realized that the answer was no one. I think Kristen is the perfect Bella because Bella seems difficult to play and i could not picture just any good actress but there is always something about Kristen. She's different and i agree with Rob. He said that Kristen brought something stronger to Bella's character and i could easily see it in the teaser trailers, sneak peaks, etc. I could definitly see Kristen as the next Jodie Foster because Kristen is so talented and very intelligent. She's just different and that's what many people like about her.

Great for the part
I've seen all of her movies, except the ones that haven't been released. In my opinion, a do agree that she has potential. Through all of her movies, she has really grown herself into a fantastic actress. When I heard she was cast as Bella, I was questioning it. But after I thinking about it and seeing pictures, I really thought she was born for the part. To me, Kristen has a natural beauty, like how Bella is described in the books. Ultimately, I think she'll do excellent, and I'm behind her all the way when she takes on other roles besides this one.

Kristen is Bella
Kristen Steward is Bella. In all the Twilight pictures I've seen (as Bella), she looks like the average high school student/girl next door which is the picture I had in mind when reading the Twilight Saga. In the movie trailers, she seems to totally embody the character of Bella. Will she be a huge hollywood star? That's anyone's guess, but, I'm sure she will enjoy a long career as an actress.

She gets it.
I definitely think Kristen can pull off playing Bella because I think she has a quality that's an integral part of Bella's personality. Kristen is mature and she is honest. She has an in-depth understanding of human nature. Stephenie Meyer possesses this quality as well, which is what makes her a good author, and she bestows this trait on Bella.

Kristen is not an unbelievably awesome actress yet, but she has the propensity for it, and she is someone I respect for her intelligence and level-headedness. I think she can handle a lead role and will play the character well and I'm glad she got the part. I think she is a good pick for Bella. I also believe that it is a comment on Bella as a character that such a smart, logical girl would want to play that role. It serves to discredit those who insist that Bella is anti-feminist and the story is unintelligent.

Oh, Kristen
Okay so post-Panic Room and pre-Speak, Into the Wild, and In The Land of Women, I totally did not like Kristen as an actress. She just seemed to be playing the same person in every movie she did; herself. I wanted the credits to accidentally say Kristen Stewart as Kristen Stewart. After I saw clips from Into The Wild, I was blown away. Not because of the movie but because of the pasion you could see she had for the book and now the movie. I love when actors care enough about a role to where they research. And the movie was just so raw. I loved Speak because it showed sarcasm, which I feel is totally Kristen! Malinda (the character she plays) was really just a more defined version of Kristen all along (minus the whole scary rape thing). And then I fell in love when I saw her in In The Land of Women..mainly because she was so real. And the relationship between her and her little sister and just like mine and my little sisters. It was so cute to me.
And now she's playing the most important role in the most important movie of my life (no seriously) and I'm not worried at all. People will probably say that she didnt deliver well. But she is so beyond the text of Twilight. She understands the deeper feelings that Bella doesnt let everyone else see. I think that we will be confused when we first see her portray Bella, but no matter what, she will do it the best. And she's my age (we're a month apart) so I really like seeing people in the media my age showing that we really do have brains and some of us use them to do amazing things that Kristen Stewart has done.
Thanks Kristen for that!

Kristen has the potential to be a great actress. I'm sure she will shine as Bella. She has been acting from a young age and she has time to ripen. Twilight is a major role for Kristen, which will lead her to other prospects. I have enjoyed all her movies thus far.

I want to be as good an actress as Kristen Stewart
Hi,
Kristen Stewart is amazing. And for those who dont think so should take another look at the actress. Just at eighteen years old the young and talented Kristen has played some serious roles. When I become famous I want to be at least half a good actress as she is. She inspires me to go out and do what I find so free. Her roles in the movies and films she been have left a lasting impression on me. Like after watching Speak i was like wow, that girls got it! She's awesome and so into character. She definitely a role model of mines. Hopefully when I do become famous we can even do a movie together. Last comments...KRISTEN STEWART ROCKS!

Amazing
After Kristen was cast as Bella, I went onto IMDB and went through all her work. I realized that most of the movies I've wanted to see have starred Kristen. So I began watching them and I am amazed by how great an actress is.
She's a very different and diverse young actress than most in Hollywood. I love that she takes on films of substance. She takes on characters that can have depth to them, that aren't one dimensional. My favorite movie I've seen of her? Speak. She was able to portray vulnerability, cynicism, and a slight taste of depression perfectly.
I personally think that she is a great role-model for girls. She seems level and down to earth, someone worth looking up to. I cannot wait to see her portray Bella in Twilight. The more clips, trailers, and posters I see of the movie, the more I realize that Kristen was the Bella in my head.

She was the reason i decided to read the book, I have watched almost all of her movies and loved them. I think she is amazing, she a some quailty that no one else has and it draws me in. I think with Kristen in this movie it will turn out 10 times better than it would have with another teen actress. While i was reading the book itried to find another actress that would be able to play her. and honestly i thought of no one. She was the reason i read the book and she is the reason i will she the movies.

I'm a little nervous...
Honestly, the only role I've seen with Kristen Stewart was about some game, and I kind of remember her as the bratty older sister (which I thought was good acting for the role).

When I first heard she was cast as Bella, I thought that based on looks, she fit the part probably as much as anybody else could at most. You are rarely going to get a character's appearance dead on based on the author's description, and then you have to go into the whole issue of how everybody depicts Bella differently.

But then I saw the previews.

If anything, her voice totally killed it for me. I'm still going to see Twilight a ton (unless for some bizarre reason it's really, *REALLY* bad, however I feel that she will not be able to represent the emotional aspects of Bella's personality. Her voice sounded cold and off, in fact (not to sound rude), she really sounded ridiculous! However, I am not going to base her performance off of the less than 10 seconds of her speaking used in the previews. I just have a bad feeling...

i don't think so
i think she is going to be alright but i don't think she is the perfect person for Bella because i find the she really only has one tone of voice and it annoys me and she is a bit dull i am just a bit disappointed that they choose her i just don't think she right for Bella
